The Tissa Wewa is unmistakeable, as it’s right on the border of the Tissamaharama town. The expansive, man-made body of water was built for irrigation purposes, although today it’s Tissa’s pride and joy. During sunsets, it truly is a vision to behold. You can also spend some time watching the large flocks of birds who group together as twilight descends, eager to settle into the safety of their roosts. You can also go for a quiet walk around the southern side of the lake, as the walkway has been especially setup for this. Be careful of actually touching the water in any way though, as crocodile sightings have been had here.
